Did the VHS cover art scare anyone else as a kid?

I remember whenever my parents would take me to the local video store, I would always sneak away to go into the horror aisle. One film I always remember is this film. I never saw it until recently but the cover art of the creepy looking demon scared the beejezus out of me as a child! It was one of the films I always wanted to see, but could never have the actual courage to rent. Watching it now, the film isn't really what I expected. It's more of a Evil Dead-like cheese flick. I love 80's horror cheese flicks so I don't mind, but they don't make cover art like they use to.

War does not determine who is right. It determines who is left.

Any cover as a kid would scare me even though I felt the same way that I wanted to see it. It would even scare me to pick up a cover. LOL I saw it several times as I became a teenager and loved it! I love cheesy movies like this! That is why I am also trying to get a late night show that I watched when I was a teenager and that is USA UP ALL UP ALL NIGHT! No network has a TV show like this on anymore and todays teens or young youth are growing up without it. That is sad to see that happen to them. No they do not make cover art like they use to anymore.

I would find the covers interesting to look at, but a bit creepy though. Of course your parents do not want you to watch that. LOL When you are older you know that it is not real and it is fake so you enjoy it more now.

I own like Night Of The Demons 1&2. I was not too happy when I came home from the Horror Hound Convention in March from Indianapolis because I had purchased from a vendor who had a spot to sell DVD's there. What I did not know was that I was not buying the movie, but a rewritable DVD that was blank. That really made me mad because I would have Night Of The Demons 1-3 along with the remake as well. They took my money along with other people as well at the convention.

My mom worked weekends in a video store when I was a kid and I would always browse through the horror section because I was so fascinated by all the video covers. This one in particular scared the *beep* out of me, as well as the cover where Angela is licking a skull lollipop (I believe that's the sequel). I remember the box for "Hello Mary Lou: Prom Night II" scaring me pretty badly as well.

i was born in '83, so mom and pop video stores were everywhere when i was a kid! my parents pretty much let me rent whatever i wanted. the covers that always freaked me out were; "panic", "curtains", "rest in pieces", and "bone yard" to name a few... i remember when i was in 5th grade or so, i rented "the pit" (1981) and "blood sucking freaks" to take to my local bowling ally (they had a back room for kids w/ toys n such) and i played BSF for a couple kids. let's just say it was a bit too much for us!! hah! i scarred some minds that day!

Jesus Christ yes. My uncle had an extensive horror movie collection, and this was one of the movies I was always scared to run across when I was digging through the tapes. I was about 8 or 9 when it came out, and I remember a store with a HUGE poster of the freaky demon face hanging over their video section. I had to walk by with my head down. Cripes!! It took me a while to get over it.
