Filming dates are April to may of 1987, but released October of 1988, wonder what the hold up was, could have put it out in October of 87..Must have been some reason behind it.. Shot in 4 weeks..

i would imagine even though considered a low budget genre film of est. 1,000,000$ production.....they would need more then 5-months...in editing/special fx/musical score/soundtrack rights/marketing/distribution/adr/color correction/POST PROD.Etc*

Films are often put on the shelf for any number of months or years for various reasons. Most likely in this case they wanted to release the film in October and it wasn't ready by October of 1987.

crazy almost 30 years ago. i remember watching part 2 before 1 and im like yeah part 2 is awesome but part 1 is awesome too
