Other than how the dog got into the tree house is, what was the Mummy doing in Eugene's closet? It's just so random.

There's a lot of things they never explained in the movie, like why they were carrying a coffin on a plane? Where it was going? Where did it come from? Where did Dracula get his car? How the stone appeared in a house? How did Dracula know it was in that house? How the Black Lagoon monster woke up? A lot of questions without answers
shareThe stone and house were explained in the diary. As for Dracula knowing... no clue. But then again, he always seemed to know a lot without explanation in the Universal Monster movies. I assume (no explanation like you said) he was shipping the coffin by freight just like he did in the original novels. Only this time he used s plane instead of a ship.

shareIt was very random, but a lot of fun. It was a typical Laurel and Hardy Joke setup. The film was supposed to be an 80's version of Laurel and Hardy meet the Universal Monsters.

Maybe the mummy was planning on jumping out of the closet to scare the kid?
