Wolfman Questions

How or why does the Wolfman become the Wolfman? He suddenly shows up at the police station knowing he would change that night. Is he a werewolf before we meet him, and travels around begging to be locked up every full moon? Is he pulled by Dracula to the mansion?

Well we don't know who is the werewolf that bit him but it doesn't matter. He was a werewolf before the movie takes place and he begs to be locked up because the wolf man is a sympathetic character. Lawrence Talbot does the same thing
