Difference between this and series?
Or is it the same thing?
shareTotally unrelated. The premise of the show involved wax figures of the classic monsters coming to life inside a museum and helping a young student fight crime in an effort to make up for their past deeds. Sort of in the same mold as the The Ghost Busters TV show from the same era.
I'm curious if the studio that made the Monster Squad movie were ever sued or had to pay rights to use the title similar to Columbia having to pay Filmation to use Ghosbusters?

Wow, your short post brought back a million memories. I used to watch the Monster Squad show and The Ghost Busters TV show (Spenser, Tracy, and Kong) before the unrelated movies of the same names came out. Those were the great days of Saturday morning TV.
With great power comes great responsibility.
i didn't even knew there was a tv series of this movie
shareThere isn't, as Fluke Skywalker said the film and series are completely unrelated. One was a 70's TV show about a night watchman at a wax museum where the wax statues of monsters come to life and help him fight crime, and you know what the movie is about. They just have similar names. They're no more related than the 1986 Ralph Macchio movie Crossroads about a blues guitarist is to the 2002 Britney Spears film of the same title, or Mel Gibson's The Patriot is to Steven Seagal's The Patriot.
