So...the Army showed up...

By responding to a "Dear Army Guys" letter written by a child in red *crayon* warning them about monsters?

I love this movie, grew up with it and everything... but, this part?

Um....yeah, sure. 😄

Must've been a *really* slow day in the Army if they're going to respond and *show up* after a crayon written letter is sent to them.

"Alright son, where are they? Where are the Monsters?"

Ha!

It's a movie about kids fighting monsters. The army showing up is the least silly thing about it. Besides, given the amount of carnage and number of police killed during the climax of the film the Army may have been responding to an official call. Maybe that guy just happened to be the one who got the letter and seeing all the kids around asked for Eugene to try and find out what was going on. He may not have actually believed in monsters, but he saw all the carnage and knew something or somebody caused it, but since he was talking to the kid who apparently believed in monsters he asked him where the "monsters" were. Though I think it works better and is funnier if you just give into the silliness and believe the Army actually responded to a Crayon letter about monsters. Maybe they don't believe in monsters, but they were bored and wanted to break out their toys, that's kind of funny too.
