Saw it for the first time

I just saw it today, and it is great. I was born in 81' so it does remind me of my childhood a bit and the way people used to act. It is funny to see things like the kids call each other "fags", imagine if the movie was released now? It would be banned or protested for that even though it's meant only as an innocent display of the way youths act. The monsters and all that are cool as well, this is the kind of movie kids used to watch at sleep overs and stuff.

Um, no, it was meant to be bullying.

Can't stop the signal.

I'm from the same era, and for whatever reason I never saw this movie until recently. We used all sorts of words we didn't understand. I guess it was one of those curse words we could use without getting in trouble in front of adults, but yeah "fag" will never be used in this type of movie again. Not that I really care if it is used.

I'm also from the same era and just watched it for the first time on Netflix a minute ago. With many '80s movies, even some aimed at tweens, you do end up hearing the "F" word everyone is afraid of most. May explain how I never saw this on TV growing up.

I was born in '81 too, and I just saw it today! It was one of the only 'cult movies of the 80's' that I came to late, but it took me back to being a kid again. 

This movie totally makes me miss the 80s. I miss when the world wasn't so PC and everybody got offended over everything.
