The star wars movies had no opening credits.... The original poster is right... The way the names of the people whoosh onto the screen with the trail behind them combined with the superman-esque music definitely made it seem like a rip off of the superman credits.
What about Skeletors soldiers? they are a direct copy of the Star Wars stormtroopers with Darth Vader helmets
I didn't really see that, I thought they looked totally different. The opening scene of Skeletor walking across the Greyskull throne room does look a lot like Darth Vader, though, but in a good way.
OP - This movie, with He Man basically being a variant of Superman, was more of a homage to it (as well as star wars) than being a shameless rip off. The film definitely has its own charm and identity, enough to not be considered a copy.

I never noticed it before but they are similar. That shape of helmet was used a lot by German soldiers in WWII so it's not a design unique to star wars.
I am Djour Djilios. could you spell that please? I don't think so. Try it with a "D".
That helmet with the curved edges looks a lot like vader's helmet. Star Wars borrowed a lot of stuff off of WWII designs including the guns and uniforms of the imperial officers, even the names like stormtroopers. Sci-fi movies in general always borrow stuff from real life designs.
