I think the score for this is similar to both Star Wars and Superman, I guess that's what MOTU is in spirit (an amalgamation of both series'). I think Conti's score still very much has its own identity, like this piece which is unlike anything from John Williams and is pretty damn good:

The Spaceballs score is a homage to Star Wars, much like the score for this movie is a homage to Star Wars (and Superman), but I don't think either films ripped off anyone (especially since both Spaceballs and MOTU came out pretty much at the same time). It was more a harmless homage than straight up plagiarism, I think.
