Did anyone else get a Masters Of The Universe vibe while watching Thor: The Dark World? I certainly did from it's costume and production design, it's dark yet playful tone and especially it's melding of sci-fi and fantasy elements amongst other things.

MotU was better for me too, and really other than Hemsworth's Thor being somewhat similar to Lundgren's He-Man, I don't see that many things in common for the two films.
The director has stated in interviews that this film was a tribute to Jack Kirby, Thor and Fourth World in particular.

And new similarity or something what ties Thor: The Dark World, Ragnarok and New MOTU Movie is writer Christopher Yost who wrote the latest draft.
But MCG directing it i am kinda sceptical but we will see
