Stallone making fun of Lundgren's acting

Anyone hear this story? It's on a cannon documentary. Apparently Sylvester Stallone dropped by the set when they were making this and told someone "you gave him lines?" when talking about Lundgren.

Did you engage hostiles? I *vaporized* hostiles.

If Dolph punched me in the chest so hard that it put me in the ICU, I would watch what I say if I was ever around him again

reply

Well, I can't say he's wrong exactly.

That's Stallone joking. Sure didn't he give Lundgren lines in Rocky IV?

reply

Yeah, about three lines! But sure, he's just joking.

Lundgren wasn't that bad of an actor. You watch Chris Hemsworth as Thor (basically He Man in all but name) and his performance is as wooden as a mannequin. Lundgren at least was a likable guy onscreen, I really bought him as a hero and his delivery was good enough.

He was my C.O. in Nam. CIA listed him as MIA but the V.A. ID'd his M.O. and put out an APB.

reply

yes, I think he was mostly joking and Stallone has talked about that all the 80s action guys were fighting for roles. That's the reason Arnold and Sly didn't work together in the 80's. Stallone was the biggest reason why Dolph got a role in the expendable movies.
