Even when they first meet Mr. Richards was being a snot towards Jonathan for no reason, what was with him?

Because Jonathan is an incompetent, jerk-off slacker with no qualifications whatsoever who only got the job because some old demented broad had the hots for him. Why wouldn't he hate him?
