Whatever happened to Jade Malle?

Although the remake is a million times better and Dakota Fanning excels in the role, I wondered whatever happened to Jade Malle.
Also the ending, Creasy goes to see Sam in the hospital but all we see is Sam sitting on the balcony from a long distance and Creasy comes up to her and says 'Hi Sam' and thats it. What is the ending supposed to mean? I appreciate it if someone explained it to me.

I have just seen the movie and also ask myself that question.I guess no internet search can help also.About the ending I think she was traumatized and recovering.

An alternative explanation is that Creacy & the little girl were in heaven or purgatory...I didnt think this at first, but i read it in a review and the more times I see the movie, the more I think this explains the ending

Anyone else got any thoughts on this?

The death of Creasy was certainly faked; his death was faked in the source novel too.

Pinta Balletto did die in the original novel, but Sam lived in this movie.

Here's the thing, I do remember her in some other stuff, however, she may have been using another name that IMDb cannot find.

I'm of no help on the ending, but other posts have suggested that Creasy was in the witness relocation program. If that's the case, what do we make of the body in the bag? This was a very frustrating end to an entertaining but less-than-satisfying film.

As for Jade Malle, could this be her on Facebook?

Her only other credits in this site are an episode of "Millennium" and a film called "Special Breakfast Eggroll: 99¢." I assume she has a life and career out of the film realm. I found it odd that her character is essential at the start of this film, then basically drops from sight even though she's supposedly rescued.

SPOILERS:

The US embassy and the Italian police (or just the obviously very powerful ginger inspector with high voice) faked his death. The cops were powerless against the kidnapping crew (who was possible tied to the mob), and saw Creasy as their deus ex machina "quick fix". The faking was their way of thanking him. Otherwise they would've had to arrest him for vigilantism and even if they had somehow decided to simply let him go, the rest of the kidnapping crew (we never get to know how many people was involved) would've been on his tail to get revenge as long as they thought he was alive.

The girl was not shown in the final scene up close because the director wanted to leave the audience with their own impressions about the (physical and psychological) state that she was in after this horrendous ordeal. You hear and see bits and peaces of information on how she's being treated at the hands of the kidnappers (the gay guy says he tried to convince one of the guys not to touch her; also we see her with her left hand in bandages at one point as if her hand was cut or possible missing a finger) and it's up to you to decide what they actually had (or hadn't) done to her during the time she was their hostage.
