Last line.

I also saw this movie for the first time in the 80s. And not too many people seem to know about it. I've been looking for it on DVD. Anyway... one of my favourite things about the movie has been its last line. It was when they discovered who was 'out there' and he said (something like) "It's alright, I'm not too good with people".

Was that the last line!?

Thanks in advance :)

That's right. Mission control (or whoever) are speaking to 'Ulysses' over the radio and they say "Does it concern you to be out there all alone?" and he (Jeff) replies, "No, not really. You see, I'm not that good with people." This is the same thing he says to Frankie when she asks him if he'll come to her sister's wedding, reaffirming to us, the audience, that Jeff is the right person is out there, although Frankie is the only one who knows that Ulysses and Jeff switched places.

"He murders his wife every night. Other than that, I think he's pretty harmless."

I think that Dr. Ramdas knew, or suspected that Jeff took Ulysses' place in space.

He says "No, you see I'm not very good with people." I LOVE that last line, too; Especially when the song starts to play! :o)
