There needs to be more said about this movie

I mean, two measly threads?

I've never seen it, but I'm hoping to get it for Christmas.

I just looks so sweet!

i agree, and i am going to give this more threads. i have owned this movie on video for prolly fifteen years! i watch it at least once or twice a year and each time it is as fresh as the first time i saw it. magnuson and malkovich who are always good have great chemistry here, and the supporting roles are all played to the hilt. i particularly love the quirky, vibrant set decoration and the direction is first rate. i always call this 'my favorite movie that nobody else saw'!

Yay!

I did get it for Christmas, and watched it that night.

It's got to be one of the sweetest 80's movies I've ever seen!

I wanted to hug Ulysses all the way through it, he was so sweet.

At the end I was almost in tears with squealing glee.

Am I a dork? Maybe...

But I don't care!

It's such a sweet movie, and I'm so glad Susan Siedleman (sp?) made it!

Go Susan!
And go John Malkovich and Anne Magnuson and everybody else for doing this movie!

Lol, "my favorite movie that nobody else saw".
Funny, but accurate.
I didn't even know this movie existed until a couple months ago when all of a sudden I went on a Malkovich kick that hasn't gone away.

:D

Congratulations! So glad you got your Christmas wish. What did you wish for this Christmas and did you get your wish? Hope so! Bye now...

I agree! This is one of my all-time favorites! The leads are wonderful, the movie has such a great look and feel to it (80's/futuristic), but Glenne Headley steals the show as Trish, Frankie's best friend. I just re-watched this yesterday while home sick, and I never get tired of it.

I love this movie. It's adorable, funny and just so delightfully '80s. It's got something about it that makes multipule viewings really enjoyable. I love how the opening scene of Frankie doing her make-up in her car as she drives is an obvious nod to Desperately Seeking Susan, since both movies were made by the same director.

I love Susan Berman in this. It's a real shame she didn't become a bigger star.

I love this movie since the first time I saw it on cable in 1989. I taped it the next time it was on, and watched it whenever I could. Mom said that I'll probably fall in love with a robot! LOL (I ignored her, and I am happily married for 15 years, to a human). I think Making Mr. Right is every girls' fantasy come true; "If Mr. Right doesn't come along, I wish to mold Mr. Almost-Right into the man I want!"

I agree with you guys. This is one of my most favorite films and it seems like no one else knows about it. I have taken to the habit of pucking us copies of the video tape anytime I find one (they are always cheap) and giving the copies to friends and aquantances just to spread this great sweet movie. I usually have one or two spare copies around my house.

I will try to get this movie on DVD.
