Is this a reboot?
Would this be considered a reboot? since this is the one time where Bond gets signicantly younger since the last movie. I've heard that that GoldenEye is technically the third part to the Timothy Dalton films.

shareI consider it a "soft reboot" without an origin story. Dalton's portrayal is too different from prior Bond's (particularly his direct predecessor, Moore) and the world of the movie is too grim for me to believe it is in the same universe as the other films.
shareSoft reboot.... yep
They acknowledged the events of ohmss in ltk and since dalton is close to lazenby in age, it could fit the time line established in 1969
Just like how For Your Eyes Only is technically, in the same universe as OHMSS since the pre-credits teaser also acknowledges Bond's late wife, Tracy.
shareIn Licence To Kill, when Della asks Felix why Bond got upset about being offered the garter, Felix replied "He was married once. It was a very long time ago."
Kara, we're inside a Russian Army base in the middle of Afghanistan.
