Everybody Loves Richie.

That's what this reminds me of.
Yes, I am old enough to remember the great music of this wonderful singer. I was an adult when this movie first came out in the theaters.....
I just saw it recently though. It reminds me of Everybody Loves Raymond.
Poor Bob/Robert got the shaft because EVERYBODY LOVES.......

Anybody else get that feeling?

Fasten your seatbelts.... It's going to be a bumpy night!

reply

LOL! You´re absolutely right! I saw it again a few days ago and i had that feeling!

Prostitute: What the *beep* are you doing?
Johnny: I'm gonna kill a bunch of people.

reply

If the mother was partial to Ritchie it was because he was a loyal son as opposed to Bob who had been in jail, drank, and used drugs. Not the same as Everybody Loves Raymond by a longshot.

reply

True.
I wasn't being literal. I am just saying that I am reminded of Everybody Loves Raymond whenever I see this movie.

At least in the movie we can understand why the mother favors one son over the other. On Everybody Loves Raymond, it was never really explained why Robert got the short end of the stick. Just please don't compare Ritchie's mother to the mother on ELR. That would be taking it too far.

reply

LOL! I couldn't do that.
You do see what I mean though, don't you?

Fasten your seatbelts.... It's going to be a bumpy night!

reply

i thought everyone lo ve raymond was a spin-off

I can see the mom on everyone loves raymond, and rithcie's mom acting the same way

reply

LOL! Exactly!
I think that senorjuez felt that I was insulting Richie and his family in some way, or making fun of them.....
Not the case.

And basically thinking if they are not exactly the same.. then they are opposite...

hahaha

but basically you have two brothers and the older one is not as "cherished" as the younger one....

reply

That's exactly how I felt when I saw the movie. My mother agrees too. For Connie, everything was "Richie, Richie, Richie". Apparently, Bob had talent too. He could draw. But you can't get rich and famous for being an cartoonist so she never helped him cultivate his talent or start a career. He was stuck being a garbageman.

When I started this thread I never wanted to offend anyone. I love this movie and the music. I was just watching the DVD today and checked out the special features...... Great stuff! Nobody mentioned "Raymond".
Sorry to anyone I offended. I love this movie.
