It's strongly hinted that Ritchie and Rosie are dating when Bob arrived. When their mother hugged Bob. Ritchie had his arm around Rosie. Later when Ritchie was singing at his sister's birthday party. Their mother was looking around to see where was Rosie and Bob were at.

Bob was busy taking Rosie's cherry. As we find out after they had sex. It was Rosie's first time.

Oh ok thank you very much I wasn't sure :-)

No problem. Also when Ritchie and the family was leaving. Rosie started to talk to Ritchie and maybe she wanted to say that she was sorry. But she could tell that Ritchie didn't want to hear it. He was hurt and wanted to leave.

Of course Bob brings her along to live with them.

Establishes the mistrust Ritchie has for Bob, right from the get go, and uses an example where the audience can make no mistake about it, Bob taking Ritchie's girlfriend's virginity. The juxtaposition between Bob and Rosa's tryst and Ritchie singing folk songs with the elders and the children emphasizes Ritchie's kindheartedness and naivety and Bob's shrewdness. This scene sets the tone for these characters and, really, the entire movie, as in my opinion the way Ritchie and Bob play off of each other makes this movie what it is.

He should be angry for choosing to date a slut who would go give her virginity to her guy's brother.

Real LOSERS spell 'loser' looser!

reply

That was a little sad. Ritchie seemed to really care about Rosie.

Much as my fam watch this great true story biopic, and the way i follow throughout today, i remember his own brother said, how Ritchie did "like" Rosie, and that Rosie was not at all interested, not in 'that way.' He said the two never dated. Not at all. I think the film cover that clear as day, when we see him "look sad/mad and jealous all rolled up in one during the scene where he was in the car, driving off with his mother, and she goes,
"Ritchie..." and we see him just"turn away." Pretty clear, he wanted her for himself. But Bob said that never happened.
