I am surprised nobody has mentioned the matte paintings for the background at the end when Hoagie, Ellen and Michael are swimming in the ocean after the boat is destroyed.
Blu Ray quality just makes it worse.
Aye, aye, aye... it was terrible in the first theatrical release, and I can only shudder at what the super-sharp blu ray must make it look. The "ocean" waves were rolling up against the tank wall, which is so fakey that it invites the viewer to look for more fakery in the "sky" - and there it is, by Cthulhu!
