Slightly better than Jaws 3

I thought this was slightly better than the 3rd one. The special effects and quality was not as bad as in the 3rd, the special effects and shark was really done terrible in that one and the quality/grainyness really looked ugly. but really the only bad part in this one was they screwed up on was the ending when the boat stabbed the shark and he blew up. I mean, who thought that was a good idea? Maybe they ran out of money after shooting the other parts of the movie and threw that in at the last minute.

At least Jaws 3-D had originality, however laughable some might see it. The overall concept isn't that bad. Anyway, the main complaint I hear about Jaws 3-D is the special effects and cinematography being bad and the film having a campy tone. OK fine, from a technical standpoint it's dated, and hasn't translated well into 2-D format but it's still more entertaining than Jaws: The Revenge.

While there is a fair bit of talent on-board with the cast in Jaws: The Revenge, their performances are still very phoned in to the point that they appear sleepwalking through the horrendous script that might play well in taking a few cues from the original 1975 film, but it makes a complete mockery of it and itself in total. And the special effects are just as horrendous as in Jaws 3-D if not more, but with the ridiculous concept, I don't think even good special effects would've been able to save it. It was an idea that shouldn't have been greenlit.

Redundancy at it's worst.

In all honesty, as much as I love the one shot in Jaws 3D where the shark floats towards the underwater base like a cardboard cut-out, and freezes when breaking the glass, I'd take watching The Revenge more over 3D. I find the fourth film to be much more enjoyable to watch for its *beep* insanity. I find Michael Caine to be such a joy to watch in this. I love that one scene when the shark jumps out at Caine, Caine then says in a nonchalant manner, "Oh *beep* then the shark manages to pull the entire plane underwater, and then middle-aged Caine manages to reach onto the boat unharmed and as dry as a bone. *beep* hilarious. 😄

And I also love how the shark gets killed, in a shameless effort to replicate the first film's ending, when the shark gets jabbed in the neck by the boat's broken spear, it ends up exploding, for NO reason. And while that's going on, as the characters jump off the boat, the boat ends up sinking into the water faster than we could barely acknowledge it.
