Recast for 2010...

The best way to avoid a film getting remade is talking about it. So let's jinx this one. Who would you put in this today?

Ryan Reynolds as Tuck Pendleton
Seth Rogan as Jack Putter
Elizabeth Banks as Lydia
William Shatner as Victor Scrimshaw
Jane Lynch as Dr. Canker
Eddie Izzard as Mr. Igoe

I didn't give this much thought. I'm sure you can come up with a better cast. Let's hear it.

NO KATHERINE HEIGHL... YES MEG RYAN FOREVER.. NO FOR REMAKE

MEG RYAN (GODDESS MASTERPIECE) > KAT HEIGHEL (PIECE OF *beep*

Ah, so we're trying to think up the worst possible casting choices? In that case:

Tuck - Paul Walker
Jack - Zach Braff
Lydia - Anna Faris
Scrimshaw - Alan Rickman
Canker - Sandra Bernhard
Igoe - Steven Seagal

I have no enemies, but am intensely disliked by my friends.

Why does it seem so easy to insert a Judd Apatow cast into other movies? Its like the people that spout Paul Rudd and Seth Rogen for a Ghostbusters sequel.

Facts are meaningless. You could use facts to prove anything that's even remotely true!

The thing that made the original so great for me was the cast. There is nobody today that I feel can pull this off. Plus why would we need to remake this it's perfect

reply

My Thumbs Up, nerhal1! we don´t need no remakes ..when something is perfect! mainly these cast...and Meg Ryan.

IF CAST HER AGAIN COULD BE PERFECT AGAIN!

reply

Exactly. The original is perfect. Nobody today could approach Quaid's and Short's performances. The effects are far better than CGI. It's even in color for the black-and-white-phobes. The only improvement now would be the absence of hideous 1980s women's hairstyles and shoulder pads.
