My absolute favorite scene is when the Hendersons are looking inside their window watching Harry eat the plants. Mrs Henderson smacks the window and says "Stop That!". Harry smacks the window and gives a taunt that says "Whatcha gonna do fool?!" I laugh evertime I see that.

This movie has, hands down, one of the best car chase scenes of all time. Mainly because the Hendersons' station wagon is basically a character in the movie, as it was instrumental in bringing Harry home with them, then it brought him home with George after he ran away, (add to that it's taken the brunt of Harry's abuse: ripping off the bumper, the door, big dent in the roof) and now, ironically, it's against them, chasing them on the freeway. If the chase had included the Hendersons, Wrightwood and Harry in the wagon being chased by LaFleur in his truck, it wouldn't have the same impact. But because it's the good guys in Wrightwood's van, and LaFleur in the Hendersons' statio wagon, it has so much more meaning.
As great as all the humor is, I love the emotional moments.
My absolute favorite moment is the few minutes surrounding George punching Harry's jaw.
"Go". Then George turns and he's broken up by it, and Harry is like a hurt child who doesn't understand, thinking his new friends/family is dejecting and hating him.
George had to break his and Harry's hearts, out of compassion and love, so Harry would leave them and not be killed.
