Who's who in Hamburger Hill

Here's a list I compiled of who dies, gets wounded and whatnot while watching this movie.

Opening scene:

Sgt Frantz(WIA). Gets hit in the arm when the company is getting out of a firefight with NVA. Is medevacked and later returns to duty.

Bridge Checkpoint:

Galvan(KIA). Decapitated during mortar attack on bridge checkpoint.

Patrol encounter:

McDaniel "Mac"(KIA). Grenadier. Shot in leg, then killed by NVA grenade. Beletsky takes over as company grenadier.

Hill 937:

Duffy-Machine Gunner(KIA). Shot in shoulder by NVA soldier during May 15th assault on Hill 937. Dies soon thereafter in accidental gunship attack on troops advancing up the hill. Gaigan assumes machine gunner duties.

Bienstock(KIA). Dislocates shoulder during May 16th assault on Hill 937. Is later killed during final assault.

Gaigan(KIA). Shot to death by NVA sniper during May 18th assault on Hill 937. This is during the heavy rainstorm that prevents further advances up the hill. Bienstock becomes company machine gunner.

Doc(KIA). Shot by same sniper that kills Gaigan. Dies of wounds before being medevacked.

Beletsky(WIA). Wounded during same assault on Hill 937 but is not medevacked. Helps secure the summit with Frantz & Washburn.

Murphy-radio operator(KIA). Killed in NVA grenade attack during final assault on Hill 937.

Lt Eden(WIA). Loses right arm during same attack in which Murphy dies.

Sgt Worcester(KIA). Dies of wounds during final assault on Hill 937.

Motown(KIA). His body is found by Sgt Frantz in a punji stake pit during final assault.

Bienstock(KIA). Killed by NVA machine gunner during final assault.

Sgt Frantz(WIA). Stabbed in the back by an NVA soldier during final assault. Is able to help secure the hill.

Vincent Languili "Alphabet"(KIA). Shot to death by same NVA soldier that wounds Sgt Frantz.

That's a great summary. I would have never though of that.

Did anyone ever relized that everyone who was in the cat-house, was either KIA or WIA. But for the most part KIA. With the exception of the GI (who I belive is Beletsky) wasn't in the cat house. He maintain is faithfullness to his girl Clair.
