Music Was Terrible.

There was a sequence where the music sounded like it came from an episode of the "Little Rascals". Totally at odds with the scene.

Philipp Glass' interesting and unconventional score was very poorly edited for this film. The repeated use of the same cue over and over again delineating an eventual departure of a principle cast member made a mockery of Glass' use of serialism, and his trademark arpeggios.

If you mean the scene at the final battle, yes it did stand out as being a crazy place to have such music, but the point was that the whole action was crazy, continuously telling soldiers to fight up a muddy hill to a well entrenched enemy with pre-spotted artillery and our troops being killed by our own fire. Yes it was crazy as hell.
