Questions about Worcester

I saw the movie yesterday, my favorite character was Worcester.
But there are some questions / takes I would like to know about his death.

When Frantz asks where is Worcester, he is told that he is up there with Motown.
It seems like he went to the left of the hill and killed a few enemies.
But then he comes back later all covered in blood and apparently fought til he was out of gas, with just his knife left.

What do you guys think happend to him? Why did he flank the enemy to their right either alone or with Motown?

What I like about this Vietnam movie is that is it not all out action during the entire movie. You get to learn the characters and their mindset and how they kept the positive attitude up and moral up.

The top of his head is missing when he returns...

I know, (hate to see that scene), but any takes on how it happen? Gunshot? Shrapnel? It reminds me of the Bastogne scene in Band of Brothers, you get to know all the persons very well. And you think nothing is ever going to happen to them. Then in Bastogne they catch hell and you end up with a 'WOW' feeling.

They mispronounce his name (as Americans are apt to do). It is meant to be pronounced wooster.

Oh and Captain_Augustus_McCrae shut up you wanka

It's his name, so no they didn't get it wrong... technically.
Just be glad they didn't call him Sergeant Cholmondely!
