That all depends...
If you don't like cheesy 80s movies, then yes it did suck ass. I really don't think they made this movie with the thought of winning an oscar or anything. Just trying to cash in on a fad at the time (although they did fail at that). Just take the movie as what it is, 80's fun. When watching a movie like this, you have to be in the right frame of mind. Just go in thinking it's gonna be a fun little romp with disgusting puppets and you'll be fine.
