When the mother comes back and none of them greet her, she tells them she brought presents to them. Then Christohper and Cathy yell at her and she gets angry and leaves.
Do you think she left the gifts for them to find or took them back?
In the following scene, where Chris is fiddling with the door to go downstairs, the camera pans around the room, and you can see the presents piled on the table by the window in the north wing bedroom. Toward the end of the movie, when Chris knocks out the grandmother and throws the chair leg at the window, the presents are still on the table. So Corrine left the presents there, but the kids never opened them.
