The creepiest part about the bunny boiler scene...............

It isn't when she opens the pot up. I think the creepiest part is when Beth first comes into the house and notices something is amiss. Then she looks into the kitchen and sees a pot of boiling water with steam overflowing. The look of shock - and terror - on her face is the creepiest thing. Right at that moment she has a million things going through her mind.

"We've been gone all day"
"Did I leave the stove on?"
"No, I didn't leave the stove on, I wasn't even cooking"
"So why is the pot boiling?"
"How did the pot start boiling?"
"Is someone in this house with me?"

Her seeing the pot for the first time and walking towards it with a shocked expression on her face (no music in the background, it wasn't needed) was the perfect build up.

I was just thinking that when I watched it tonight for the first time in many years. I imagine a lot of us have had those moments when you walk into your home and something seems out of place or a light is on that you don't remember turning on. Not as bad as finding a pot boiling on the stove, of course...

It reminded me of the Thanksgiving night two years ago when me and my girlfriend returned from the movies. We got out of the car in the garage when we heard some heavy footfalls upstairs. The house was dark and we knew no one else was supposed to be there that night. We stepped out of the garage to look at the window of the bedroom directly above from where we were standing when we heard the sound only to see the light come on and a silhouette looking out at us..So yeah, I felt that terror.

That's a Thanksgiving you'll never forget.

Then what happened!?

Dude, you cannot leave us hanging like that. ;-) What happened?

I agree! Did you ever see the camera crew man in the background in that scene? He walked past a window behind Anne Archer as she approached the stove. Damn now I keep looking for him instead of concentrating on her face 

And can you imagine the smell??? Boiled bunny!! Ugh horrible!

Perfectly described my feelings during that scene! Especially for her being a housewife.. she seemed to be the one who handled all the cooking and looking after the home. So when she comes home to see a pot, she just knows something is off. You can tell she is going over logical explanations in her head but she just can't come up with one!
