Dan clearly didn't know 'the rules' about cheating, what an idiot!!!

I got a serial cheater friend who (according to him at least) knows everything about how to get away with it (he's married).

The rules are:
- Never cheat with single girls. Make sure they have as much to lose as you (a spouse), and thus cannot blackmail you later for whatever reason.
- Never cheat with coworkers (mixing business and pleasure). Unless they are stationed on a different city or something like that and thus cannot come in contact with your daily business, or anyone for that matter who knows your wife.
- Never cheat at home. You don't want one night stands to know where you live nor your phone number.
- ALWAYS strap up!!!!

You follow that and you'll be pretty much safe. Of course the window of opportunity narrows quite a bit, but better safe than sorry!!!

Well, I doubt that Dan will ever forget the lessons that this tryst taught him.

It sounds like he took the advice that Robert Morse gave to Walter Matthau in, "A Guide for the Married Man". Remember, "Deny, deny, deny".

How about not cheating at all?

Wow, your friend sounds really mannered kind of guy. Gold star for him. All these seem like very effective ways to not get caught. But if he's spending all this energy trying to "get away with" getting lots of a$$ while being married, then why doesn't he just... I don't know... not get married? I mean, nothing's wrong with being a horndog, but why the need to drag someone else into his mess? And on paper, making that someone a life partner? To me, that just escalates it from disrespect to plain cruelty.

Anyway. Here's hoping she finds out! :)

You have bad taste in friends.

Why doesn't he just get a divorce?

1. The relationship of your fellow cheater may break up. They may blurt it out to their spouse when they are angry. They may tell a friend out of guilt, the friend may tell someone else... "Never cheat with single girls" is way too simplistic, and is certainly not a foolproof strategy.

2. What if the co-workers are married? Doesn't that contradict your previous point, however inaccurate it may be?

3. Obviously.

4. Obviously.

This is from a woman by the way. Maybe this is why we rarely get caught.

Truly Happy Mondayed.
