Beware of Bootleg DVD Copies!!

I once bought what turned out to be a bootleg copy of the DVD in a flea market. The cover for this one features Rutger Hauer in an SS uniform(probably from his role in "Fatherland"), and the back cover contains a WW 2 fighter plane with a conteporary photo insert of Hauer wearing a psuedo-letterman jacket and a windblown hairstyle.

If you see this version of the DVD, it's not only not authentic, it's a total piece of crap!

This is a Dutch site, but they deliver to other countries and the price and shipping are low. I have heard that this DVD is of good quality and is the full 143-minute version, unlike the cheap crap region 1 editions that are cut by 25 minutes.

Hello Gordon-M,

You mention here (and in another thread) that you have "heard" that this a complete version. Do you know this for sure? I do not mean to be disrespectful. I have found more than one domestic dvd that states on the dvd box "Runtime - 143 minutes" and have purchased them only to find out that they are the same editied 118-119 minute cut version (and have returned both of these). I purchased the single platter laserdisc long ago when it came out and it is 119 minutes long.

I'd hate to order overseas and find out the same thing and have to go through a nightmare of trying to return this.

btw - I do have my original VHS SP copy that I taped at the time of the first network broadcast. I really need to upgrade this as it is getting worn. I can absolutely attest that it originally ran in a three hour time slot and this commercial free cut clocks in at about 144 minutes.
