Did Peter Jackson really borrow from this film!?

Part of me wants to believe the soup scene in the extended version of the Two Towers and the soup scene in this are just chance similarities, but knowing Peter Jackson's early work leads me to believe that Deathstalker II is just the kind of film and humor he'd pay homage to. It's good to know that a film that borrowed so much from films like Raiders of the Lost Ark and Star Wars also inspired other great fantasy adventures by doing so.
