Wasn't the boyfriend just plain STUPID!

In the begining when Paul's step daughter dies of an overdose, the next day we see Paul following her boyfriend who confronts the drug dealer who sold her the drugs.Now, why would he tell the drug dealer that he's going to report him the the police?

Isn't it VERY stupid to tell a drug dealer that you are going to report them to the authorities? Did he really expect the drug dealer to let him just walk away without getting killed?

He should have just went to the Cops instead of trying to reason with someone like that.

Yeah, my girlfriend and I laughed about that, too. Just a necessary plot device, I suppose. Funny, when I watched this movie when I was 14, none of the illogic of the story occurred to me at all!

The boyfriend was lucky to be killed by the dealer! Otherwise he'd have to face "Kersey's Justice"

Agreed but yeah, it was dumb to tell the guy you're gonna report him to the cops.

That's right......At least he did not have a mullet,,,that would have warranted a kill in his first minute into the film
