Version of Nkosi Sikeleli Africa in this movie

Does anyone know where to get the version of Nkosi Sikeleli Africa, the song that plays at the end while the list of those that died "accidentally" in prison appears? It is probably the best version of that song ever.

Yes, there is a CD soundtrack for this movie, containing this inspiring song among others from the movie.

I've been looking for that particular version of n'kosi sikeleli but it does not seem to be on the soundtrack?

reply

You can find it on eMule. Look for George Fenton

I found the CD on eBay years ago. Pretty sure it was a foreign import, and that version of Nkosi Sikeleli Africa was on it.

And, I totally agree. Spectacular and very powerful version. I still have it on my ipod, and coincidentally listened to it yesterday morning. I still get a bit of a lump in my throat, especially the ending.

BTW -- right at the end, the orchestra/choir goes silent, a male voice says something, and then the choir seemingly responds accompanied by a very brief, one note orchestral phrase. Does anybody know what the male voice says, and what it means?

What is the significance of September 25, 1987?
