My ode to Creepshow 2...Where I seen my first set of boobies!...
Some things you never forget. The birth of your children. Your first kiss. Your favorite sports blooper. And the first time you ever laid your eyes on a set of tits! It was then, as a 12-year-old in the summer of 1987, that my love affair with female breasts began!
My neighborhood in 1987 was next door to a drive-in theater. I could see the top 1/3 of one of the screens from my front porch. From time to time, some of us kids would try to pry the metal sheet fencing a bit and watch some of a movie. It was difficult to hear (at best) and you were basically peering through a tiny slit in the fencing, so you didn't get to necessarily see/enjoy the movie, but it was fun/mischievous time for a kid with his friends. Though it says May 1st was the opening date for this movie, I remember it being unbearably hot that evening, so I think by the time this movie reached my drive-in theater, it was probably mid-June. We typically didn't have too much time before an employee patrolling the grounds would find us...but at this moment, the time when I was peering through the fence, the movie was in the midst of "The Raft" sequence. Seemed cool/creepy. Then, with great luck, out of nowhere, sexual stuff started happening! Now you gotta remember, 1987, no internet. Really no way for a kid my age to have seen any sexual material, unless your older brother had access to a Playboy magazine, which I did not. People make fun of guys ogling the girls in the Sears catalog...but that's simply what you did as a little boy in the 80s! So when a pair of luscious real uncovered boobs appeared on-screen...oh my...what a lucky turn of events and what a night it was!! If I remember it correctly, I think my friends and I all ran off in glee after that. And...From that moment on, all I wanted to see was breasts, for the rest of my life! :)
Looking at this scene today...my oh my...those are still one of the best pair of breasts I've ever seen! I'd describe them as "perfect". Maybe I'm biased because they were my first...but they sure are beautiful!
Interestingly, and I didn't realize this as it was happening of course, but my two best friends in High School ended up just like the two guys in "The Raft" sequence! One was a jock who was popular with the girls. The other more of a nerd type who played 2nd fiddle to the jock. They were just like those two, I mean just like them! Even sort of looked like them, except the blonde hair on the jock. The jock also owned a cool car, a red Mustang in his case. So now when I watch this movie, two things come roaring back to me...the boobs and my old lost best friends. It was really fun hanging out with them and trying to score with the ladies. When I feel like reminiscing about that time, I often throw on "The Raft" sequence. I can almost feel like I'm there...joking around in the car and swimming in the lake with them. And of course having fun at the drive-in.
