The French disc is basic, not a great transfer but it's anamorphic and it looks way superior to anything I've seen in the past www.amazon.fr/exec/obidos/ASIN/B0000A1NBJ/qid=1120946736/
I paid much less for mine so shop around.
I also like the French disc as they use the original artwork.
Does the French version contain Forced French Subtitles when watching the English track for the DVD?

Just bought the Dutch DVD. It's cheap, has a nice anamorphic transfer and you can switch off the subtitles (in various languages).
Was nice to revisit "cop". Basically it was exactly the way I remembered it, after not having seen it for 17 years or so.
Not a great film, but a still a very good one. imho "To live and die in L.A.", with a similar vague line between cops and crooks is way ambitious and better though.
No forced subtitles.

There's an Excellent Aussie DVD Available. It's in it's original widescreen transfer and is very clear quality. Good cover too.
