spoiled ending
When this 1st played on cable years ago, they had a commercial for it that gave away the last lines (& sounds) of the movie. It really pissed me off that they would ruin the ending like that.

shareThat sucks, because its the best part of the movie.
shareThe ending to this film is quite shockingly brutal and nihilistic; it's the perfect punchline for this really tough and gritty thriller.
I enjoy keeping busy. Satan finds work for idle hands.
That really does suck badly because it's such a great ending and the best part is that it's totally out of nowhere.
shareWhat´s there to ruin though? The culprit turned out to be some random dude from that feminist chick´s past, anyway - someone who had previously never even been introduced as a chaeacter in this story. Might as well have been a bloody Santa Claus.

its not the reveal of the culprit. its james woods response to the killer. for a first time viewer it should be a surprise. overall the movie is just an average thriller, but the ending bumps it up a notch or two for me.
