When movies are edited for TV

Anyone else get annoyed when movies are edited for TV and it completely changes a scene?

In the movie, when Quint tells Ronnie "Dorks are on the left", Cindy tells him "Then I guess you'll be making a right. That's where the assholes sit."

In the edited version, they cut it to, "Then i guess you'll be making a right."

How does that tell him off?

I like when movies get edited for TV in order to show more commercials. I love hearing about new products and services TV commercials air
