Wow what happened to all the old posts?
Is IMDb removing all the old posts? Thats too bad. Lots of good info is now lost

I was talking about posts in general. The last post without a reply only goes back to the end of last September. Lots of good info is now gone. Its a shame. I was going to reply to the post regarding the showing of Cant Buy Me Love in LA and the cast interviews. I finally got around to watching that link of the cast interviews and found it informative. Some good tidbits of info especially from Michael Swerdlick.

That's true. It's irritating and sad, but of course IMDb can do anything they want with their website. No one forced us to post there..
I wish they had announced this before it happened, and offered a possibility to save / download any posts or packs of posts you want (from a certain movie, for example), or something.
But text doesn't take that much space, and these days there should be enough.
I always wrote with the 'eternal aspect' in mind, thinking that my posts would stay here forever (or at least for 'a very long time'), and thought I could always come back to read any good post as well - but now it's ALL GONE!
All the great points, arguments and explanations - everything that was at least ONCE explained properly, so that everyone can see - ALL GONE!
There was so much good stuff in some of the older posts (and I don't even mean my own posts, but other people's), so now that it's all gone, the newbies will be asking the same friggin' questions again and again, and the answers will be GONE.. and so they will ask them again, and .. nothing will ever progress, because everyone will be too busy repeating the past, typing the same answers to the same basic questions over and over again, aaaargh!
It's a really stupid thing to have happened, but then, this is a really stupid world. So it all fits.
Yeah, I have seen some really great threads purged.

And they did it even worse more recently. It basically killed off talk about most movies more than a year old. A shame. Threads for movies like this were way more active before their constant deletion of any posts started more than a year ago.
Maybe the Wayback Machine archive imdb messages?
