What was that?!?
Okay, I am like 18, and I have never seen anything like William Hurt got into at the airport. What was that thing?!?

shareI believe that was a person transporter which would take people to the terminal in which their plane's takeoff gate was located. I also think they have gotten rid of those at Dulles Airport since this movie was made & Dulles now has a transporter which is completely indoors just like most other major airports such as Atlanta, Pittsburgh, and Chicago. Now, the transporters are more like subways within in the airport that you get on, not the thing he had to get on which went outdoors.
shareYeah...it was like a shuttle that took you from the main terminal to what they call "midfield terminal"...and has been replaced with a subway-style mover...sort of. I live 15 minutes from Dulles and use it from time to time and I don't remember for sure!!! CRS is really kicking in!!! But there's been (and continues to be) major renovation at Dulles Airport. But as a poster said in another thread...they use all three major airports (Reagan National, Dulles, and BWI) for that one scene...weird, huh?
shareThe last time I was at Dulles was like 1998, but I remember it was very dark and I was wondering what the heck I was riding on after a cross country flight. It actually looks weirder than I could have imagined. Interesting.
shareI know they're still doing renovations at Dulles, but as recently as April 2007, they were still using the shuttles to transport people to and from the terminals (I was on one to get to an overseas flight). I actually think they're kinda neat, even if they can get a bit crowded...
