In the movie Wall-E, he keeps his Hello Dolly tape inside a chrome toaster for save keeping when it's not in the VCR.
Since John Lasseter was originally going to make Brave Little Toaster, I gotta believe this is a direct reference. Plus you also have a scene with a giant electro magnet in Wall-E.
Wall E does remind me of The Brave Little Toaster. Then again, quite a few other pixar movies do too, like Toy Story and Cars.
But yeah, that likely was a reference in Wall E.
I thought you were going to say the fact that the Toaster got crushed in a machine to save everybody else as Wall-e does... but ok...
shareI suppose I could see how that COULD be a reference. But I think that was a coincidence in the story development more than anything else. And same with the OP's idea. They might just be coincidences. But I suppose we will never know without asking Pixar, would we?

To make this come full-circle, the silhouettes of the main characters under the Blanky tent looks uncannily like Wall-E. It's almost too good to be a coincidence!

A stretch, perhaps, but I just checked for myself and the way Lampy is standing over Toaster, it really does look like a silhouette of Wall-E.
Not saying that's where they got the inspiration for his design from, it's just one of those funny things you notice.

shareYour attempt at sarcasm falls flat. The OP is not saying every toaster in movies relates to this movie (I know you were kidding in your post Mad_Monkey, hence my use of the word "sarcasm"). The OP is drawing a connection (which is a little bit of a stretch, yes, but I can see it) between this movie and WALL-E because many of the same people were involved in both projects. Pixar is known for implanting many "inside jokes" and whatnot within their movies (like A113, the animation room in Pixar history, which is referenced somehow in every Pixar movie, and in the Brave Little Toaster as well [the room number of the master in the city]).
