The funny/ironic thing about this film

That old 1980s computer and those evil appliances that kicked Toaster, Kirby, and the rest out of the window are probably the ones at the junkyard being terrorized by the magnet now. Ha Ha.

More like 15 years ago but yeah.

Who busts the Crimebusters?

In fact they probaly became obsolete even faster. That's the problem with being on the "cutting edge" today.

That whole scene was completely hilarious, watching it for the first time now, because of how horribly outdated it all was. It made the fact they were singing about how awesome they were ten times as funny as they could have possibly intended.

And not only that, but the older appliances would actually last longer due to their durability and functionality...

Very true. Computers become outdated much faster than normal appliances. The computer I'm typing on right now is only four years old and practically ancient if you look at the newest ones in the stores while our air-conditioner is from around 1991 and still runs like a charm, as well as our refrigerator which is about just as old. I just recently replaced the TV in my bedroom with a brand new one, but the one I had in there was 20 years old and still worked like brand new. Computers on the other hand, they last a few years and then they start running bad already.

I think the theme that the movie was trying to show is that older technology can still be treasured by people who used to enjoy them and even for generations to come.

Look at how many people still hold on to their VHS to this day. The copy of The Brave Little Toaster that I got a few days ago was not of a DVD, but from a 1991 VHS (and it still runs well). I still see the VHS being of value to me and will keep me entertain until the day it dies.
