Their both about inanimate objects coming to life when no one's around. they both have a character who dismembers characters, such as Sid from Toy Story and Elmo St Peters from BLT. Elmo St. Peters actually killed the blender, unlike sid's victims who are dismembered, but turn out to be okay.
They both deal with inanimate objects feeling abandoned. They both have a lot of the same crew members. Such as John Lassetter, director of Toy Story, who was an animator on BLT.
Those are a few examples I came up with.
Master of Puppets- one of the best albums of all time.

Although Elmo St. Peters killed the blender, he's far from an evil character. Whereas Sid was tourmenting the toys for his own amusment, Elmo's just some innocent guy doing his job. If he knew the appliences were alive, he probably would have stopped.
shareI could make the argument that Sid wasn't "tormenting" the toys, he was playing with them. He was destroying them and altering them but he didn't know they were "alive". If anything, he was being creative with his alterations in a sort of Dr. Frankenstein-y way. I think the reason we all hate Sid is because at this point in the movie we have become attached to the toys and they aren't just "toys" to us.
I remember as a kid I destroyed a couple G.I. Joe's with a hammer, just to see what would happen, (does that make me a psycho? :D ).
Just thought of one more...both Sid and Elmo had dogs!
(Forgive me if this is way off, I haven't seen Toy Story forever. I just can't seem to recall Sid destroying the toys after he knew they could come alive.)
No, Once Sid knew they were alive, he was very afraid of them (as intended by Woody). They never showed him again after his sister chased him with her doll.
And my brother also destroyed some of his toys. One in a microwave. One with a magnifying glass. I think it's very common.
The creative team at Pixar have said they too were like sid, and abused their toys when they were kids, and acknowledge that its rather normal.
shareI just watched a documentary called "The Pixar Story" that chronicles the origins of Pixar, and I was surprised to find out that John Lasseter (director of Toy Story) was originally going to be the director of Brave Little Toaster. He pitched it to the studio as the first computer animated movie and they didn't like the idea at all. He was promptly fired from Disney because of his "crazy" ideas. As such, Brave Little Toaster got a new director and went ahead as a traditionally animated film. Soon enough, Toy Story became the first computer animated movie headed by John Lasseter and the rest is history. Crazy how things work out, huh?

Sort of OT, but John Lasseter being fired from a project he was slated to direct. Kind of ironic once you consider his track record as of late. lol.

The only way in which it would relate is them looking for their Master after being seperated. After that, it has nothing relatable.

The title of this thread makes it sound like Toy Story came first...
