Oh, my gosh, Nadia was from Baton Rouge...
This movie came out in 1987, the year I graduated from high school! (yes, I am old). I had never seen this movie before. Somehow, it must have slipped past me evidently, until I got in on netflix yesterday. I thought it was cool that Nadia was from Baton Rouge. That's where I'm from and still live!! Usually, if a character is going to be from Louisiana, they usually pick New Orleans. I guess it's more popular and well-known. Even thought I thought this movie was stupid, and I couldn't even finish watching it, I was proud that my little home town made it in a movie.
However, I did not like Nadia's "fake" southern accent. I noticed that it seemed to increase as the movie went on. When they were at the restaurant, I noticed a difference in her accent from previous scenes. Why was that? Was that supposed to represent how she supposedly got crazy and wild if she drank alcohol?
I loved the scene in the restaurant when Nadia put everyone in their place. I loved what she did to the French waiter!! hahaha That was great! I also loved how she told the Japanese wife how she was entitled to 50% of her husband's assests. Nadia is definitely a woman you don't want to mess with!
