Instead of a remake, and if they had to do it, I'd rather see another movie made with as many of the orignal cast members as possible. Of course there'd have to be a new storyline to work with, but that shouldn't be hard to do. Maybe something along the lines Dennis Quaid and Ellen Barkin (married of course) approaching retirement and looking forward the good life, experience a major crisis to base the movie on. They deal with it, and ride off into the sunset, the last hurrah if you will.
But I would really prefer Hollywood to let it stand as it is, and to not mess with it at all. It was a fantastic movie, and I don't believe that it can be improved on, and nor should they try. But that's just me.
