I got this from a local shop when they had a dvd sale, and expected to see a fun family film where a little child turns into Tom Hanks. I waited and I waited, when the credits rolled I did not know what to do with myself, did anyone else have this problem?

No, because the Tom Hanks film is called "Big" and this is "The Big Easy."
