Woods not intimidating at all

Woods is supposed to be imposing in this movie, but I couldn't take him seriously. Just look at how narrow and weak his shoulders look when wearing a suit. The guy looks puny.

Woods appeal--OR any threat he might pose--has never had anything to do with being physically imposing. It's his bristling intelligence & his unpredictability. He plays characters who can explode w/violence--which doesn't mean--beating people up with his fists. He's edgy.

Bruce Lee was a world-class fighter at 128 pounds. He didn't look intimidating either, but the producers of his movies had to use the camera to slow down some of his moves to make them visible for the camera. You'd be amazed at how little size has to do with fighting ability, unless the difference is extreme.

Bruce Lee didn't look intimidating? Was that a different Bruce Lee you were watching?

reply

Sure, he looked intimidating when he was actually fighting, but before or after he didn't look any more intimidating than Jackie Chan. I don't operate under the assumption that Oriental eyes automatically mean proficiency in the martial arts, although Mad TV did a hilarious sketch on that idea with Bobby Lee.

Maybe not, but it's so much fun to watch him, regardless...

When I look up from my pillow I dream that you're there with me...

i find woods so much more imposing than any vin diesel alike actor.

He looks so much intense and, because we know what he's capable of in this movie, that makes every scene with him very impressive
The bar scene: yes, dennehy is much more imposing physically but wood is much more scary

reply

I wouldn't want to tangle with Cleve: he has ice water running through his arteries, that's for sure.

reply

One thing about Woods that comes through in his movies is that he makes you believe that he really doesn't care about people.

he is prolly like that in real life too

reply

Actually, quite the opposite.

reply

Never underestimate puny-looking guys, especially those packing heat. Wood is scary good here, as he is in all his films.

reply

I'm sure Woods could kick your ass, parker.
