Noses ?

So, what do you suppose was going on with the guy taking noses?

- Was he a crazy person? Or, was he stealing the noses to sell?
- Any Symbolism in cutting off the noses?
- What did the "chiseler" say to Kracklite?
- Why did he later (in custody) give Kracklite a nose?

And what about Kracklite's reaction?!
I really expected him to go into a rage and break the guy's nose.

Was it so absurd that Kracklite could only marvel at the destruction of treasured art? Maybe it even frightened Kracklite to see how the "common man" had no reverence at all for these priceless objects? Kracklite's lifetime of work paled in comparison to the great works in stone; here being chiseled; "de-faced" by a street-person; destroyed by people who had no appreciation for art or architecture. Maybe he was stunned? sensing his own life's work being chipped away?

Maybe he felt the guy with the chisel was "Caspasian" chiseling away at his life's work (laser light shows and all); having no appreciation for his vision of classic architecture? looking on helplessly unable to stop the inevitable destruction?

I didn't understand it either. I know when I bought some bronze art things from India a long time ago, it was pointed out to me there would be a small dent somewhere on it. That Hindus thought you shouldn't try to create something perfect because you were competing with God. So there should be an imperfection.

Then I thought no, probably modern day Romans (and Egyptians) are jealous because they can't match the ancients. Hence, vandalism.

I don't know everything. Neither does anyone else
