I remembered seeing this film playing in a now old theater back in 87', semi crowd, music was loud, and I remeber the tv spots for this movie as well.

So who else seen this in theaters?

I did. Saw it as a double feature with the John Cusack comedy, "Hot Pursuit". We thought "American Ninja 2" was up first, according to the times listed in the paper. Sadly, wasn't the case. So, I sat impatiently through "Hot Pusuit", anxiously waiting for "American Ninja 2" to start.

And I enjoyed it, though, I have to admit I was really thrown off by the goofy tone this installment had, compared to the first. It was really different, but it's grown on me. But, sadly, the fight choreography was pretty mediocre in places, like the fight with the ninjas on the beach. When Dudikoff uses the sword, it looks like rehearsal takes. I mean, he almost couldn't have been more slow when he cuts that ninjas' sword in half.

I did. My mother took me when i was about 10. I don't really remember much about it though.

I did!! I was 7 at the time and begged my mom to take me. We had watched the first one on VHS and she said she would take me opening night!

I saw it the other day in NYC during a film festival. They were showing many different kinds of ninja films. I must say I enjoyed the first American Ninja, which they also showed, even more.
