One Thing I liked about this movie..

Was the slow build up with Kathy from a spaz to a godess. They could have made her look all hot at the get-go but it wouldn't have worked because why would a normal guy turn down an 1980's Kathy Ireland? She was one of the sexiest women in the 80's and it wouldn't make any sense, especially in a real life scenario of the time when it's just average women around.

They made the transformation kind of sudden for my taste but I still enjoyed it. Nothing's better than an ugly duckling turned swan scenario, and this movie had a fine woman to do it with.

To bad the rest of the movie was utter garbage!

but, as is the problem of all the ugly duckling films, they start out as Hollywood's version of "ugly", which has pretty much always amounted to a pair of glasses.

that's it. just glasses.

glasses on = ugly
glasses off = magically transformed

which pretty much means every single person who is not a shallow quagmire of insecurities will not see glasses as unattractive and that means the movies usually start with attractive, intelligent duckling and later transforms to mediocre-at-best physical attractiveness.
