Helena Bonham Carter

I was watching this (MST3K) while bagging & rearranging my comic book collection and to me the one woman who drugs Kathy & chases her thru out seemed to be HBC. But I did not see her listed in the movie credits, the credits here or really remember them making a reference to her (granted it was a 1993 show). I was just wondering if it was my mind playing tricks here or if someone had any information.

Yes, I have information. Called the credits. Knowing the character's name, you can see who played him/her.

Janie du Plessis
General Rykov / Shank / Claims Officer

Yeah, Janie Du Plessis must be pretty talented.

She played Shank and looked and acted a lot like Helena Bonham Carter.

She also played General Rykov with short butch hair and an eye patch.

She also was the claims officer.

It looked exactly like her didn't it?

Here's something that will blow your mind - the midget guy towards the beginning of the film when Kathy first gets kidnapped is Deep Roy, whose worked with Burton quite a bit - and was the only actor playing the Oompa Loopa in his Chocolate Factory movie.

Six degrees of Burton.

I did not know that was Deep Roy. I met him at a comic convention in suburban Detroit in 2012 because I loved the Max Rebo band from RotJ. I had him sign my photo of Jabba's room since he was Droopy McCool. 😄

did he use a little pen?

reply

Drew, I am completely with you. I really thought that was her too. She even tilts her head and grins that same silly way as Helena. At least this woman can act. Can't say the same for Kathy Ireland.

the character returns in the sequel journey to the center of the earth (1988)
